Bright City is a 12 foot tall, 171 foot long sculptural steel mural by artist Shawn Causey. It is located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The mural was commissioned by the Arts Council of Indianapolis and funded by the Buckingham Foundation. Causey fabricated and installed the piece in collaboration with contractor Mark Daniell. It is a low tech, low maintenance, permanent structure. The mural is engineer approved and detailed for an exterior environment.

This artwork was designed to be appreciated while the viewer is in transit, moving from either end of the piece to the other. Upon approach, narrow vertical strips of color shift from compressed layers to open fields, punctuated by the rippling rhythm of the reflected cityscape. Pedestrians experience Bright City as an immersive field of color and light. Viewers passing by car consume the piece in one sweeping glance. Stripes of reflected light enliven the sidewalk.
